1/07/2003 It's standing room only at Spectra and Bewator Seminar Hands-free technology was proven to be a real option for the future of access control at a recent seminar, jointly hosted by Spectra Security and Bewator Cotag at the Reebok Stadium. Delegates from council and hospitals all over the North West were on hand to hear the new implications for security and access to their buildings, due to the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) which comes fully into force in October 2004. "Worthwhile and informative" was how Ian Gander from the Estates Department of Bolton School described the event, which covered the downfalls of current security systems as well as the advantages of the hands free system.
Bolton based Spectra Security, the hosts of today's seminar, provide advice on and install door entry systems in and around the North West. Operations Director Barry Sloan summed up the event: "We are really pleased to have organised such an informative and also interesting gathering. The DDA is all about ensuring access for all, and today I believe we are well on the road to achieving that objective." 6/06/2003 Spectra and Bewator hold joint seminar at Bolton's Reebok Stadium Bolton based Spectra security are to hold a joint CPD approved seminar for local public sector staff examining the effects of the forthcoming Disability Discrimination Act. The act, which comes fully into force in October next year, ensures that any person with disabilities is not disadvantaged when accessing buildings. Spectra, who are well known for their expertise in Door entry, Access Control and electric locking equipment regularly install Automatic door opening systems so as to ensure sophisticated yet simple to use access for all. The seminar, scheduled for 24th June is CPD approved (Certificate in Professional Development) and counts towards the final award. Presented by Phil Redcliffe, Bewator’s technical manager, who has extensive knowledge and expertise of the act, and it’s implications for both the public and private sector alike. Promises to give invaluable information for those who have to ensure compliance with the act on a daily basis. Commenting on the forthcoming event, Spectra’s Operations

01/01/2003 - The recent Bewator European Distributor Conference held in the ancient city of Bruges in Belgium saw Spectra Security picking up the major award for “Best Performance of 2002”.
