We thought you might like to put a face to a name
and so below we give you a little information about each of our staff.
|
Douglas Dean, Technical Director
Born in Bolton, and now living in Westhoughton, Doug is married with a family.
He started his electronics career by working for a small company which
specialise in high quality "Top of the range hi -fi" equipment. Doug joined
British Aerospace in his early 20's, working in the Standards Laboratory. It
was during his time that he met Barry Sloan.

Doug went to work for Electrolok in 1987 joining Barry. He was the
company's first ever Technical Support Engineer specialising in the Cotag range
of Access control products.
In 1990 Doug left Electrolok and founded Spectra with Barry Sloan and Ken Moore.
Douglas is a keen cyclist and has completed many long distance rides including
London to Paris in 1999 and 2002, We helped by raising several hundred pounds
for the Royal British Legion

Barry Sloan, Operations Director,
Barry is also a Boltonian having lived there all his life. He joined British
Aerospace at the age of 16 and on completing an apprentiship went to work in
both the 'Test' and 'Test Engineering' Departments.
In 1984 he became Senior Engineer with Electrolok Ltd. an access control company
located in Goostrey, Cheshire.

In 1987 he became Technical Director and in 1990 founded Spectra security with
Doug Dean and Ken Moore.
Barry is a very bad runner, but completed the Great North Run in 2000 and also
many other events such as The Manchester 10K, as well as the occasional cycle
ride like the London to Paris in 2002 with Douglas

John Moore, Installation Engineer
John is our skilled carpenter and is really only at home working and shaping
anything wooden. He has worked with the installation of access control
equipment for over 15 years. John also lives in Westhoughton like most of the
team. In Spectra John is primarily responsible for our installation of electric
locks, electro-magnets, and all hardware equipment.

He is a keen cyclist and has regularly completed in the Manchester
- Blackpool, Manchester Century(100 miles) and coast to coast (Scarborough -
Morcambe) cycle rides.
John in October 2003 gained his Advanced Driving Test Qualification, which we
were all very impressed with.

Kevin Greenslade, Service Engineer
Kevin joined us in February 1999. He is an experienced Radio and TV engineer
who has spent the previous 8 years prior to joining Spectra in a Service and
Maintenance role.
Kevin joined to be our "Service Engineer" and will be primarily responsible for
the planned maintenance of all our equipment with customers who have service
Contracts.

Kevin really enjoys the customer service side of the business, he's one of
those people who can't rest until they know the root cause of the problem. He
has already made significant reductions in customer fault call outs by further
improving our already high quality "Planned Maintenance Service" . He has the
gift of spotting potential problems before they cause customer concern. |

June Coe, Administration Secretary
June joined us on our move to our Westhoughton offices in August 1997. She
keeps us organised and on the right track (administratively speaking). She has
for many years been involved in administration and secretarial roles, so when
she joined the company she knew it was going to be a challenge keeping track of
a group of engineers.

| June works magnificently for both staff and customers alike, she
has that rare knack of knowing our customers' systems, and being able to assure
our customers that every one is special to us. |

Chris Burton, Installation Engineer
Chris joined us from school at the age of 16. (In fact he even spent his work
experience with us.) Chris has spent two years in day release working towards
his BTEC certificate.

football tactics |

Chris has gained his Welding qualification, and is studying for his GNVQ in
Electrical installation. He is also our car park barrier engineer and wants to
develop his skills further with this side of our business
|

David Walmsley
Born in 1973, David is also a true Boltonian, including the mandatory support
of Bolton Wanderers. David is single and enjoys being a bit of a film critic,
-ask him about your favorite film; We think he's a secret Sci-Fi addict.
David joined us in July 2000 and quickly established himself as our resident
CCTV expert. He has spent many years in the CCTV installation and service
industry.

| As well as being a qualified intruder alarm engineer, he has
enjoyed the new challenge of being part of our team and learning the new skills
related to Access Control and T&A engineering. |

Anthony Hockman
In January 2002 we were all pleased to welcome Anthony to the team, as our very
first Sales manager. Anthony joins us from spending many years with Bewater and
more lately, Bewater-Cotag, where he was Area Sales Manager for the Northern
Region. Crossing the line to one of his customers, he is responsible for all
our sales within Spectra across all product lines.
Married with a family, Anthony lives in Warrington and is a keen Formula One
fan.

Richard Braithwaite
Richard is our youngest member of the team joining us in September 2002
directly from his school.
Richard joined under the Modern Apprenticeship scheme and is working towards
his NVQ qualification in Electrical / Electronic Servicing and Installation.
He is a keen Manchester United supporter and enjoys playing and watching
football as well as improving his DIY skills at home.

| Alex Chapman
Alex joined in January of 2003 in order to strengthen our team in installation
and service of CCTV and Access Control systems.
He has worked for many years in the intruder alarm industry both on
installation and service/maintenance.
Having spend a period of his working life in Greece now he is learning the
language. So if you are planning a holiday Alex is the person to ask for the
insider info!

So there you have our team ....a small band of people who are committed to
giving excellent customer service at the right price.
